Original Design Assets
Built for Modern Use

Li textile is a living system of woven pattern logic: form, colour, and symbol developed over millennia. LijinElements develops selected original Lijin® design systems and production-ready assets informed by this heritage, with documented provenance and a responsible commercial framework.

Selected master assets and bespoke applications are available for licensing and co-creation across fashion, product, and spatial work.

Cultural Context & Heritage DNA

Historic textile structure, warp-and-weft geometry, colour and symbolic meaning.

A Living Textile Language

Li textile is more than pattern: it weaves a Li understanding of nature, life, belief, and the wider world into cloth. Its motifs draw on landscapes, plants, animals, and everyday life, carrying a worldview as much as a visual language.

A Body-Tensioned Loom

Woven on one of the world's oldest loom types, Li weavers use a backstrap loom in which the body controls tension. Through precise handwork, it can produce complex single-face jacquard patterns.

From Heritage to Contemporary Use

LijinElements translates selected, documented design logic into responsible contemporary applications.

The Li people are widely understood to have developed from ancient Yue, particularly the Luoyue branch, linking Hainan to a wider Tai-Kadai cultural geography across southern China and mainland Southeast Asia.

Why Partner, Not Just Reference

Move beyond inspiration.
Work from a credible
cultural foundation.

Rather than independently extracting cultural references, brands work with LijinElements through documented design systems, agreed use frameworks, and culturally informed creative direction.

01 / Cultural Context

Design systems are developed with documented context, not surface-level reference.

02 / Clear Basis for Use

Licensing defines the approved scope for application, adaptation, and communication.

03 / Collaborative Review

Clear review points align creative ambition with responsible use.

Case Study — Uniqlo × Lijin®

A cultural launch that made
retail participation tangible.

Launched during Sanyuesan, a major traditional festival for Li and Miao communities in Hainan, this limited collaboration brought Li textile design into a high-visibility retail moment.

Uniqlo × Lijin® Sanyuesan collaboration: store display, live weaving booth, and campaign launch
01 / Cultural Relevance

Launched with local meaning.

The collection met customers during Sanyuesan, connecting a contemporary retail launch with Hainan's living cultural calendar.

02 / Retail Participation

Design became an encounter.

A live weaving booth brought the makers and textile knowledge behind the collection into the customer experience.

03 / Direct Artisan Value

Value reached the makers.

The live activation generated RMB 4,800 in direct artisan revenue during one half-day session.

For international brands in China, cultural collaboration can create local relevance, meaningful participation, and shared value.

02 — PROVEN COLLABORATIONS. FUTURE CAPSULES.
Distinctiveness that builds
cultural equity.

At a time when much of fashion looks interchangeable, LijinElements brings the graphic logic, rhythm, and material character of Li textile into contemporary collections — creating immediate visual recognition, enduring cultural equity, and a product story customers can connect with and remember.
